MEMORY RESERVOIR

GSAPP Core II
Critic: Karla Rothstein
Spring 2017

Form and material carve light;
Simultaneous process of materialization and abstraction.
Space transcends as light becomes corporeal.

The Memory Reservoir provides spiritual recesses for those who wish to escape from their own minds. Light, both unaltered and intentionally manipulated, transcends the Reservoir from its material existence to a spiritual realm. Secluded from the chaotic urban environment, a thick network of individual yet interlocking alcoves absorbs unwanted memories and excess emotions in the forms of art, writing, and music, restoring peace to troubled minds, and providing opportunities to return, reflect, and recollect.
